HYDERABAD: Thousands of Indians enrol in foreign universities in countries such as Ukraine and Russia to study MBBS, but latest data shows that after they return home, only a handful of them clear the mandatory test to practice in India or appear for NEET-PG examination.

Pass percentage of the mandatory Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) is abysmal, with just 17 per cent of 23,691 candidates clearing the test held in December 2021.
