Shane Nolan has sparked outrage after moaning about the extended rolling news coverage in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth II's death.
The 33-year-old son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie has said that he wants to be assured the coverage won't see his dad's return as Alfie Moon in EastEnders.
Shane took to social media to question the coverage and said that he "doesn't understand" why there is constant news coverage on many channels.
He told his 44,000 followers on Twitter that he wanted to watch the BBC soap, tweeting: "I did love the queen, what a woman. I just don’t understand following the coffin around with cameras everywhere and all over TV all day.
"Now I know I know some people will be well into it and that’s fine but can anyone tell me what time @bbceastenders is on tonight. #alfiesback".
Shane soon faced a backlash for his views and there was outrage among his followers for his seemingly unpopular thoughts on the current TV schedule.
One upset follower hit back at Shane, replying: "Absolutely disrespectful after all the Queen did over the years for the country I’d rather watch her safe arrival on her final journeys rather than EastEnders."
Another shared their anger, tweeting: "I don’t understand the cameras following your mother everywhere either, but someone somewhere thinks the public want to see it."
While a third pointed out that on-demand TV was there for these important moments in history: "EastEnders on every week our wonderful queen needs the respect she deserves so I’m all for following what’s happening it’s history. Catch up was invented for occasions like this."
Some fans pointed out that the episode in which Shane Richie walked back into Albert Square as Alfie Moon is already uploaded to BBC iPlayer.
Shane was not having any of it though and responded: "Nah it’s not the same."
He did find agreement from some on the social media site, with one writing: "its kind of full on mourning, have to say, despite my love and respect for our Queen, I had to turn everything off yesterday & just get some time out.
"Was kind of getting into my head to the point I was confused about how I felt. Don’t follow soaps but sure yr Dad is great in it."
Shane made his Walford comeback as Alfie Moon on Tuesday night when he pitched up in the Square to stop his ex-wife Kat Slater from marrying Phil Mitchell.
