During a recent appearance on the KK Create podcast, Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani, shared his thoughts on Rathee when asked about the popular YouTuber. According to Orry, his dislike for Rathee began with an incident that had nothing to do with politics.
Orry claimed that he once clicked on one of Rathee's videos after noticing himself in the thumbnail, expecting to play a significant role in the content. However, he was disappointed to find that he appeared only briefly in the video.
"I don't like him because he used me as a thumbnail on his video. I got tricked into watching it, and I was there for two seconds. You used me as clickbait and got me to sit through a 20-minute video that wasn't even about me," Orry said during the podcast.
The criticism soon expanded beyond the thumbnail controversy. Orry accused Rathee of being selective about the topics he chooses to address online. While acknowledging that he does not closely follow all of Rathee's content, Orry suggested that the YouTuber tends to focus on issues that support a particular narrative while ignoring others that may deserve attention.
"I feel he covers topics very conveniently when it fits his narrative. Sometimes he'll say something that doesn't make sense, and then when there are other things happening that should be discussed, he just won't talk about them," he said.
Adding a personal jab, Orry revealed that he refers to Rathee by a nickname he encountered online, saying that it had simply stuck with him over time.
This is not the first public clash between the two personalities. In 2024, Orry came to the defense of his friend Janhvi Kapoor after Rathee released a video discussing cosmetic procedures in Bollywood. The video included references to the actress, prompting Orry to respond in the comments section of social media posts discussing the topic.
At the time, Orry claimed that Janhvi likely did not know who Rathee was and accused the YouTuber of creating controversial content to attract attention. He also labeled Rathee as "anti-national" in comments that later gained significant traction online.
Despite Orry's latest remarks, Rathee has not publicly responded to the accusations so far.
The renewed criticism has once again ignited debate across social media platforms, with some users supporting Orry's views while others have come to Rathee's defense. As the disagreement continues to unfold in public, it is clear that any mention of Orry and Dhruv Rathee in the same conversation is likely to generate strong reactions online.
