One person dead after paddleboarders get into trouble off north Wales coast

A person has died after paddleboarders got into difficulty in the water off Conwy Morfa on Thursday night (July 14). Three were rescued from the water while two were taken to hospital for treatment after a major rescue operation was launched.

Police, the Coastguard, ambulance crews, an RNLI crew and the Coastguard helicopter were involved. But on Friday (July 15) North Wales Police have confirmed sadly, one of the paddleboarders has died.

There are no further details currently on the person's identity. A police spokesman said: "We received a call at 10.14pm last night (Thursday) reporting a group of paddleboarders in difficulty in the water off Conwy Morfa.
