Omagh Winter Wonderland to kick off at Healy Park

The return of the popular Omagh Winter Wonderland will kick off at Healy Park in the Co Tyrone town on Thursday, December 1.

After a successful first year at the Omagh St Enda's ground last year, including one of the biggest ferris wheels in Ireland known as The Omagh Eye, the event returns once again this year.

Gates open this year on Thursday and it runs every night until New Year’s Day, with extended openings at weekends.

The event has a number of food stalls and amusements for families, while there will be live music to entertain the crowds as well as the 'Mistletoe and Wine' bar.

Admission to the grounds is free while tickets to visit Santa are already selling fast with organisers working with North Pole staff to try and get a few extra slots.

St Enda's club chairman Conor Sally said he hopes for the event to be a bigger success than it was during its inaugural year.

“We have worked to make what was good last year even better this year," Conor said.

"We have tweaked a few things, we have added our refurbished hall as a venue for performances , changed around a few things to add to the visitor experience and of course The Omagh Eye” will be a massive attraction again."

The Wonderland is a cross community event with the entire Omagh community coming together with young entertainers from all the local schools and groups set to perform this year.
