The top rookies usually sign with a shoe company relatively early in their careers. That was the case for Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren, who signed with Nike on Friday, per ESPN’s Nick DePaula.
The No. 2 pick will miss the entire 2022-23 regular season as he suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury during the offseason.
Holmgren has been a household name in basketball homes since his high school days as the lanky seven-footer’s unique game catches the attention of the general public.
Holmgren joins his teammate Josh Giddey in the Nike family as the 20-year-old inked his deal with the shoe company last September.
