Oasis star Bonehead has announced he will take a break from playing after being diagnosed with cancer. The musician posted on Twitter that he was being treated for tonsil cancer.
He told how he was "gutted" that he was going to have to miss performing with Liam and the band. But he said the cancer was treatable, reports The Mirror.
Fellow band member Liam Gallagher sent his good wishes to the guitarist. He wrote: "Sending BIG love to the 1 n only Bonehead and his family wishing you a speedy recovery we’re all thinking of you rasta you’ll be back on stage bfore you can say r we doing Colombia LG x"
Paul, 56, who was a co-founder of Oasis, revealed he was suffering from cancer in the Tweet on Tuesday. He said: "Just to let you all know I'm going to be taking a break from playing for a while. I have been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.
"But the good news is it's treatable and I will be starting a course of treatment soon. I will keep you posted how it is going. I am gutted I am missing the gigs with Liam and the band."
Treatments for tonsil cancer include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Paul is best known as the rhythm guitarist for the band but also occasional keyboardist.
