The Oakland Athletics have made a surprising move by optioning Esteury Ruiz to the Minor Leagues, a decision that has raised eyebrows among baseball enthusiasts. Despite Ruiz's strong start to the season, where he showed promising stats, the A's management felt that he needed more playing time and development in the Minors.
General Manager David Forst explained that the team sees Ruiz as an everyday player rather than a platoon option or pinch-runner. The decision was also influenced by the team's upcoming schedule, which features a number of right-handed starters, making Ruiz's playing time uncertain.
