Nottingham Forest receive heavy backlash for controversial decision after double injury blow

Supporters of rival Premier League clubs are raging after Nottingham Forest lodged an application to add Steve Cook to their Premier League squad.

Forest are said to have made the plea after Scott McKenna and Willy Boly picked up injuries, meaning Felipe and Joe Worrall are the only senior centre-halves available to the club.

And now fans of other teams are fuming about it, insisting the move should not be allowed to happen - citing the number of players Forest signed in the summer, as well as other occasions in the past where teams have had to make do. Below is a look at what fans of clubs including Leicester, Aston Villa, Wolves and Leeds have had to say.

@conradchircop : Nothing wrong in them asking, however the rules must be equal to all. There's no sympathy here - the last thing is having an 'exception' aid a team stave off relegation.

@julianholigan : Always a risk with limited signings and such a small squad

@Coxxy1884 : Don’t let them, signed over a squads worth of players, use a square peg in a round hole that’s what we’ve done for months.

@tom_A05 : Their own fault why should they get special treatment??

@gortavfc : They signed about 46 players in the summer

@casmalta : Nope, rules are rules.

@matty__jeff : Not quite how it works I don’t think chaps

@timcabrelli : There’s been a handful of teams these last few seasons with massive injury problems and didn’t get this allowance (or even have the cheek to ask for it).

@KeithWeller7 : Why should that be allowed? You just have to get on with it!

@mmwgreen : They have signed dozens.. There are rules. Its unfair on the other teams...
