There is no doubt that city centre shopping has changed over the last decade or so. A growth in online shopping - accelerated by the coronavirus lockdowns - has led to a very different look and offering in Nottingham.
Retail therapy used to mean a trip to Nash Interiors to spruce up your home or calling in Virgin Megastore for the latest chart-topping album. Now, times have changed and there are shops that no longer exist in our city centre.
Huge department stores to much-loved independent stores have all vanished from Nottingham. A recent rise in the number of empty units in the Friar Lane and Maid Marian Way area of the city prompted concerns.
