'Nothing at all' - Liverpool fans sent blunt Man City title warning by former Premier League star

Liverpool fans have been sent a message about the upcoming Premier League title race with Manchester City.

The Reds recently beat Man City in the Community Shield in the first meeting between the two clubs this season. Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez secured a 3-1 victory at the King Power Stadium.

Both Liverpool and Man City are being widely tipped to compete for the title once again this term. However, a former Premier League goalkeeper has a message for Reds fans.

Paul Robinson believes that Liverpool fans should not read too much into the win over Man City. The former Tottenham Hotspur stopper went on to send a message to Reds supporters.

“Nothing at all,” Robinson told Football Insider , when asked what could be read into Liverpool’s win over Man City.

“You cannot read anything into pre-season. For me, the Community Shield is an extension of that.

“Yes, they both named strong sides but it is not played at the same tempo as a Premier League game. It is not quite the same atmosphere either.

“I understand why Liverpool fans might think it gives them an edge but for me, it doesn’t.

“Until three points are on the line you cannot tell. The first game of the Premier League season is when things really start to matter.”
