Investigations into double death mystery have entered their fourth day.
The bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a house in North Shields on Monday night.
Police say their deaths are still being treated as "unexplained" and an investigation is continuing.
And today the house, on The Quadrant, remains cordoned off with police tape while a marked car sits outside.
Several bouquets of flowers have also been left outside the home.
Northumbria Police said the alarm was raised when a woman failed to turn up to work on Monday morning.
When officers arrived at her home they found the bodies of a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “At about 2.15pm on Monday, we received a report of concern for a woman after she failed to turn up for work. Officers attended her home address on the Quadrant, North Shields, and sadly found two occupants, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, deceased.
“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public."
On Monday night forensics officers in white overalls could be seen searching the property.
Around three bunches of flowers have since been left outside.
And neighbours have told of their shock.
One resident said: “It’s absolutely awful, nobody knows what happened but it’s come as such a shock. I didn’t know them personally, but I would say hello if I saw her in the front garden when I was passing by. I just can’t believe what’s happened, it’s awful.”
Another added: “I don’t know what’s happened. I looked out the window at about 3.30pm yesterday and saw all the police there and all the neighbours were out. I didn’t know them but I’m so shocked that they’ve died.”
