North Korea blames 'alien things' and balloons from south for severe Covid outbreak

North Korea has blamed "alien things coming by wind" that Covid patients touched on its southern border for outbreaks of the virus.

In an apparent attempt to make South Korea responsible for surges in Covid cases, authorities warned people to be wary of ways that "climate phenomena" could bring the virus northwards.

There has been an order to "vigilantly deal with alien things coming by wind and other climate phenomena and balloons in the areas along the demarcation line and borders," the official KCNA news agency said.
