North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast for Friday and Saturday according to the Met Office

People across the North East are likely to experience more showers this weekend.

Friday is expected to be another cloudy day with sunny intervals. According to the Met Office forecast, the sun will make an appearance from behind the clouds at around 4pm and 6pm.

They said: "Showers continue on Friday, although there will be a few sunny spells as well, sunshine becoming more widespread during the afternoon."

The weather conditions on Saturday are expected to be wetter. The Met Office said there will be some sunny or clear spells but also cloudier intervals with some showers and outbreaks of rain.

They have warned people that there may be some heavier bursts along with blustery winds. However the temperature in the region will remain warm with a maximum high of 20 °C.
