Temperatures across the North East will be significantly cooler than they were last Tuesday.
Over the next two days, the weather will be mostly dry with sunny spells and light winds. Temperatures are expected to remain in the teens and reach a maximum of 18 °C.
According to the Met Office, Tuesday will be a bright and generally dry day. Forecasters predict that isolated showers may develop around the area during the afternoon.

On Wednesday, the skies will be filled with patchy clouds. The Met Office believe there will be some bright spells at times and the possibility of afternoon showers.
Last Tuesday, there was a record breaking temperature in the North East, with a 36.8°C reading in Newcastle during the afternoon. Previous record highs were smashed around the region and local politicians in the city warned that the heatwave proved that "the climate emergency is here and it now".
