Today we bring you the news that a bomb squad has been called to a Northumberland town and three people have been injured in a brawl at a pub car park following Newcastle's cup final defeat.

Three injured in brawl outside Lemington pub after Newcastle United's cup final defeat
A pub car park brawl that broke out after Newcastle United's cup final defeat has left three people injured. Violence erupted at The Vallum pub, on the Dumpling Hall estate, in Lemington, Newcastle on Sunday night.
Locals have told how they heard shouting and screaming during the incident, and Chronicle Live understands glasses and bottles were thrown after the fight began inside the pub and then continued outside.
Police say three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and one man has been arrested

First new Tyne and Wear Metro train finally arrives in North East after journey across Europe
The Tyne and Wear Metro’s first new train in more than four decades has arrived in the North East.
In what is a major milestone for the delivery of the network’s long-awaited £362m new fleet, the train is about to make the final leg of what has been a long long journey across Europe. It is currently waiting at the Tyne Yard in Gateshead, before being taken to the Metro’s depot in Gosforth.
While the first of the new fleet is here at last, with its delivery having already been delayed a couple of times this winter, passengers will still have to wait a while before they can set foot onboard. The train is not due to enter passenger service until the autumn, once it has been tested locally and Metro drivers trained on it.

The number of fans arrested in Newcastle after Carabao Cup final
Six people were arrested in Newcastle city centre following the Carabao Cup final.
Newcastle United lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday. It was the first time the Magpies had played in a cup final since 1999. Toon players gave it their all as they tried desperately to bring the cup back to Tyneside. However two goals from Erik ten Hag's team in the first half led to them lifting the trophy.
Across Newcastle city centre, fans remained positive. Crowds, dressed head to toe in black and white, continued to sing their hearts out as they left fan zones and pubs and made their way home. Northumbria Police has revealed that the majority of people behaved responsibly and six arrests were made on the day for low level offences.

Bomb squad called to Northumberland town after unexploded device discovered
A main road in a Northumberland town was closed this afternoon after an unexploded bomb was discovered.
Emergency services were called to Townfoot in Rothbury after a member of the community discovered the device on the building site of the town's new Co-op store.
The road was closed for an hour from 1pm as Northumbria Police and specialist bomb disposal teams attended to make the area safe. It has now been reopened to traffic.

Northumberland's gigafactory jobs needed 'as soon as possible'
A Northumberland MP has welcomed the takeover of troubled company Britishvolt and said the promised jobs can't come soon enough for the region.
Britishvolt, which collapsed into administration in January, was behind plans to build a "gigafatory" near Cambois to produce batteries for electric vehicles.
The plans had been on hold, leaving stakeholders with a nervous wait until the takeover by Recharge Industries was confirmed on Monday morning.
