For years, Noel Tata stayed away from the spotlight while his half-brother Ratan Tata became the public face of the Tata group. But N Chandrasekaran’s decision not to seek another term as Tata Sons chairman has put Noel at the centre of the conglomerate’s next leadership transition, reported The Times of India.
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust has now begun the process of finding Chandrasekaran’s successor. Tata Trusts, chaired by Noel, controls about 66% of Tata Sons, giving him a key role in the process even as the next chairman will be selected through a formal committee under Tata Sons’ Articles of Association.
