Nina Carberry, speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes, said: "I thought John Gosden’s outburst against Frankie Dettori was unusual for him. He is usually very diplomatic and I have never heard him say anything like that. There is obviously tensions between the two and it has spilled out in public."
And Carbery says Dettori has been lacking confidence in his riding recently.
She added: "It’s not easy for either camp. John is probably under pressure from the owners as well and Frankie didn’t shine on Stradivarius. He’s not riding with confidence and it’s not like him. He normally hits Ascot in flying form but something has been bothering him.
"The younger brigade are coming along snapping at your heels and you have to be on the ball. It is a high-pressured job. You don’t get too many chances as a jockey and once you’ve lost them, that’s it. It can affect the top as much as it can the bottom and Gosden is now looking for someone new.
"Frankie has had such a good relationship with the Gosdens with all the brilliant horses he has ridden for them and it will be hard for him to get on that calibre of horse again without them. It will be a shame."
