KOLKATA: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday asked the state to explore various aspects of noise pollution in the city and other parts of the state, which have been raised by green crusader Subhas Datta, the applicant in a noise pollution case.
The bench of Justice Amit B Sthlekar (judicial member) and Saibal Dasgupta (expert member) asked the state to ensure that noise-limiters are henceforth made an in-built feature in every amplifier and public address system (PAS) so that they can never exceed the permissible noise level.
