NFL star shows off gruesome injury - although it's not the reason he's ruled out

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore has freaked out fans on Instagram this week, by showing off his fingers that are not pointing in the right direction.

It was anything but a successful season for the Cardinals, who are already eliminated from play-off contention before the end of the regular season. It's been a campaign full of injury problems, and Cardinals fans will be happy to see the back of 2022.

One bright spark has been Moore though, as the young receiver has shown flashes of brilliance after being drafted back in 2021. However, he will want to get his fingers sorted out before the start of next season if he is to make further strides.

Moore has featured seven times for the Cardinals this season, recording a career-high nine receptions against the Los Angeles Rams in November. However, he picked up an injury that saw him placed on injury reserve, and is now targeting a return for next season.

It was a groin injury that kept him out of action, but fans have noticed this week that there are a few more issues going on behind the scenes. Wide receivers are known for getting their fingers bent out of shape, as it comes with the job in hand, but Moore's are already battered.

Moore posted a video of his left hand while visiting Beverly Hills, and his little finger is almost perfectly at a sideways angle - which isn't how it should be. And fans were shocked upon seeing the footage, and reacted on social media.

"Anyone see Rondale Moore’s SEVERELY broken pinkee finger via his IG story," one fan asked. "Pinky running an out route," another joked.

"Not a doctor but pretty sure fingers aren’t supposed to do that," one supporter said. "He basically has two thumbs, this is an unfair advantage," another said, as they tried to find the positives.

It's likely that Moore will be receiving treatment in the off-season, and the Cardinals will be hoping they can field their main starting line in the next campaign. The Cardinals are set to be without nine of their 11 starting offensive line for their final game of the regular season, which has been a consistent theme throughout.

Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Hollywood Brown, Moore, D.J. Humphries, Justin Pugh, Rodney Hudson, Zach Ertz and James Conner are all expected to miss the clash against San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. It's certainly going to be a busy off-season for the medical team.
