Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' younger brother, Jackson, has been arrested on an aggravated sexual battery charge, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office records.
Mahomes, 22, was involved in an incident on February 25 at an Overland Park restaurant which police have previously confirmed they were investigating. The individual in question is accused of assaulting a waiter and a business owner during two separate incidents.
It is alleged that Mahomes shoved a 19-year-old male waiter multiple times and later forcibly kissed a 40-year-old female who owns the Aspens Restaurant and Lounge. He was booked into Johnson County jail on Wednesday (May 3) morning, held on a $100,000 bond, with arraignment set for later that afternoon. According to USA Today he will appear in court on Friday.
The Kansas City Star were the first to report the arrest. The newspaper also obtained a statement from Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, in early March about the claims. Davies told Mirror Sport on Wednesday that the court has "prohibited the defendant and lawyers from commenting".
Davies said in March: “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
Restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn and the anonymous waiter also previously spoke to the publication around the same time. The former accuses Mahomes of forcibly kissing her inside her office more than once after asking to speak about the shoving incident.
“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere, and I’m telling him, pushing him off saying ‘what are you doing,’” she said in March. “And then he proceeded to do it two more times where the last time I was pushing him off and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”
"It's disgusting," Vaughn reportedly told Mahomes back then. “Like you're a child and he was trying to say ‘we should be a power couple,’ and I'm like ‘clearly you're out of your mind right now.'’
As Vaughn alludes, cameras captured the alleged incident. She says police reviewed the recordings.
The waiter alleges Mahomes pushed him as he tried to enter the office earlier in the evening. The employee reportedly requested not to be named when approached for comment by The Star.
The alleged incident involving Jackson occurred only two weeks after his older brother and the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII. Patrick is five years older than his social media influencer younger brother.
Jackson's last post on Instagram, published last Thursday (April 28) shows him posing for a photograph with the Chiefs quarterback on NFL Draft day. A post was also shared to the individual’s story on Tuesday (May 2), stating how proud Jackson is of Patrick for attending the Met Gala.
