How Much Did Scott Jamieson Win At The Nexo Championship?

Following the Danish Golf Championship, where Jeff Winther won in his homeland for his second DP World Tour title, this week, the action came from Scotland with the Nexo Championship.

Like a week earlier, there was a home winner at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, while it was also a second DP World Tour title for the player.

After beginning the final round three back of overnight leader Shaun Norris, Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year title drought beating Matthew Jordan by two shots for his first DP World Tour title since claiming victory way back at the 2012 Nelson Mandela Championship.

That made him the second consecutive player from Scotland to win the event, after Grant Forrest beat Joe Dean by four shots a year ago.

When Forrest stormed to victory 12 months ago, he collected a check for $467,500 from an overall purse of $2.75m.

However, this year, there was even more at stake, with $3m on the table, leaving Jamieson to claim $510,000. Thanks to his finish in solo second, Jordan won $330,000.

The Nexo Championship was the sixth and final tournament of the Closing Swing, meaning there was even more to play for.

Because of his victory in Aberdeenshie, Jamieson finished top of the Closing Swing standings to hand him a bonus of $200,000, as well as entry into every event in Phase Two of the season, the Back 9

Those nine events are made up of national opens and tournaments that have elevated prize funds and points.
