CLASHANISKA and Hollie Doyle are the combination to follow in the At The Races App Form Study Handicap (Div I) at Wolverhampton this evening.
The Adrian Wintle-trained son of Dark Angel has been knocking on the door on the all-weather on his last two starts.
In the middle of last month, Clashaniska, who scored on turf at Chepstow a month earlier, went under by a neck to Admirable Lad over six furlongs at Wolverhampton.
And he again made the podium with a two-length third to Florence Street when upped to a mile at Lingfield Park 12 days later.
The handicapper has dropped Clashaniska 1lb to a mark of 52, and it’s likely that splitting the difference between six furlongs and a mile is the right move.
Frankie Dettori is in action on Monday to ride SUPER CHIEF in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (3.30), and punters should take the hint.
Kingman’s son came good at the fifth time of asking when lifting a 10-furlong handicap at Newmarket 18 days ago, beating Postwick by three-quarters of a length.
The handicapper has reacted with a 3lb rise in the weights but the step up to an extended one mile and three furlongs – not to mention the application of cheekpieces – should tease out further progress from the John and Thady Gosden trainee.
