Newcastle United trio Sven Botman, Alexander Isak and Kieran Trippier have all been nominated in the Premier League's end of season awards. The summer signings have both been named on the shortlist for the top-flight's Young Player of the Season award, while the Magpies' stand-in skipper is in contention to be named the division's Player of the Season.
The Premier League unveiled eight-man shortlists for both prestigious awards on Thursday, hours ahead of Newcastle's crunch encounter with Brighton at St James' Park. The Magpies are only surpassed by Arsenal when it comes to the number of nominations, with Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka listed as contenders for both awards.
Trippier has been instrumental to Newcastle's turnaround under Eddie Howe, and has helped the team to record the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League. The veteran full-back has also proven to be a key asset in the Magpies' attack, chipping in with a goal and six assists so far.

Trippier faces competition for the award from Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland, Arsenal pair Odegaard and Saka, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, and Tottenham striker Harry Kane. The competition for the Young Player of the Year award is just as fierce, with Haaland, Odegaard and Saka nominated for both.
Botman quickly established himself as part of Newcastle's first-choice central defensive pairing alongside Fabian Schar, while Isak shrugged off an injury setback to net 10 times in his debut campaign. The duo also face competition from Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Gabriel Martinelli.
Fans are invited to vote their favourites in both awards on the Premier League website, with the deadline closing at 12pm on Monday. The vote alongside the view of a panel of football experts will be used to determine the winners.
News of the latest nominations follows the announcement on Thursday morning, confirming Howe was in contention for the Manager of the Season accolade. The Newcastle head coach faces competition from Mikel Arteta, Roberto De Zerbi, Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola, and Marco Silva for the award.
