Newcastle United fans were ecstatic to see Miguel Almiron end his goal drought against Crystal Palace. In the 32nd minute, the Paraguayan - who had not scored since February last year - capitalised on Bruno Guimaraes' lofted pass to curl home an effort into the top corner.
The 28-year-old was overcome with emotion as he took his shirt off and charged into the East Stand to celebrate with supporters. Almiron's first goal in Newcastle colours was met with similar jubilation back in December 2019, when the Magpies ground out a 1-0 victory. This is how Toon fans reacted on social media following the opener.
@vinnymalhotraa: Unbelievable goal, unbelievable celebration!
@mjb993_: That was absolutely fantastic! Fair play to him, always running himself ragged when he's on the pitch. Deserved that one!
@TamsinJones17: What a pass! What a finish! Eddie Howe is bringing out the best in every player in the side.
@itsmeandyg: Absolute stunner!
