A Newcastle fan has spoken of their disappointment after being told their season ticket must be relocated for next season as the Leazes Sports Bar gets a new look.
A letter was sent to a number of season ticket holders which said that the Sports Bar will undergo a transformation this summer with a new facility in place offering a premium matchday experience. Fans affected will be relocated for the 2023/24 season, though their eligibility to renew season tickets is not affected.
ChronicleLive understands that the club must expand its corporate hospitality offerings due to qualifying for the Champions League to meet regulations and accommodate UEFA delegates. A number in the low hundreds are expected to be affected by the move.

One fan, who asked not to be named, has been watching Newcastle United with friends from their seat for several years and is worried that the group's new seats won't be allocated together.
The fan said: "My main issue is how the club has decided not to consult with fans over the matter of moving people out of their seats. Instead, we have just been told we are moving after the season has finished with no official prior warning."
The fan said that despite the disappointment, they would still be renewing their season ticket either way, though it would change their group's matchday routine and experience. The fan finished: "Some of the group don't go out before or after games so it might mean that we lose touch.
"It's just a shame the club decided not to communicate with fans on the matter like it insisted it always would."
The Newcastle United Supporters Trust confirmed on Twitter that it was assisting a "small number" of its members who were told that they must move seats.
The statement read: "We are currently supporting a small number of our members that have been told they must move seats from the Leazes End Sports Bar and we have raised this issue directly to the club in meetings in recent weeks."
Newcastle United declined to comment on ChronicleLive's enquiries.
