Elliot Anderson has made a major transfer by swapping agencies shortly before securing a new "long term" contract at Newcastle United.
The 19-year-old has switched from Quantum Sports to ICM Stellar and is now in the same stable as Gareth Bale, England and Manchester City star Jack Grealish, Real Madrid youngster Eduardo Camavinga and Southampton ace James Ward-Prowse. Team-mate Jonjo Shelvey is also on board with Stellar.
Anderson's contract was sealed earlier this month with the official announcement finally going through yesterday. The deal is understood to have protected United moving forward with interest in the football world heating up around the Whitley Bay youngster.
Indeed, Anderson already has Scotland pushing to give him a pathway to a major tournament after appearing for England at youth level. Eddie Howe's decision to keep Anderson in the first-team squad also left a queue of Championship clubs disappointed during the transfer window.
Anderson said: "I'm really happy. I love playing for Newcastle United, and committing my future to the club is something I've really wanted to do.
"It was my aim coming back into pre-season to work hard and earn the opportunity to stick around. I have really enjoyed being with the first team group, so hopefully I can keep improving and contribute to the team."
His new deal is expected to take him beyond 2027. Anderson signed his first professional deal in November 2019.
