Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Maddison interest renewed?
Newcastle United saw two bids turned down for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison last summer, but could be set to 'renew' their interest in the upcoming window. That is according to the Telegraph, who claim the Magpies will 'make an offer' for the England international at the end of the season.
Maddison is set to enter the final year of his contract, and has been consistently linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium throughout the season. Tottenham have also been named as a potential destination for the 26-year-old.
Maddison has registered 10 goals and nine assists in the Premier League so far, despite a troubled campaign for the Foxes which has seen Brendan Rodgers depart and the team sit 18th in the table with just three matches remaining. The report indicates Newcastle are prepared to reignite their interest, but only if the attacking midfielder is keen on the move rather than viewing a St James' Park switch as a backup option.

Diaby claim
Eddie Howe has already warned Newcastle are only in the market for 'elite' additions, with reports suggesting another frontline recruit could be on the radar. Moussa Diaby continues to be linked with a switch to Tyneside, with the France international said to have a price tag in the region of £52 million.
Newcastle secured a deal for Anthony Gordon in January, having failed with an approach last summer. However, Sport Bild via Sport Witness insist this deal for the Everton forward has not dampened the Magpies' interest in Diaby.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the winger, who has bagged 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions. The report insists Newcastle 'are getting serious' with their interest in Diaby, and with European football on the horizon, they 'will make an offer'.
