Newcastle United part owner Jamie Reuben has slammed Gabby Agbonlahor for his criticism of Kieran Trippier with a one-word response. The talkSPORT pundit had questioned the Magpies full-back's decision to travel with his team-mates for Saturday's win at Brentford.
Trippier required surgery after fracturing a bone in his foot last month, although Eddie Howe is expecting the defender to return to action before the end of the season. The January signing from Atletico Madrid adopted a leadership role immediately after his arrival, and captained the side in the absence of Jamaal Lascelles for the win against Aston Villa.
Howe has told the full-back he can continue to have a 'big impact' in the fight for survival from the sidelines, and the 31-year-old was pictured in the dressing room celebrations at the Brentford Community Stadium. Despite praise from the head coach and fans alike, Trippier's decision was branded 'silly' by Agbonlahor who questioned why he did not remain at home to focus on his recovery.

The pundit's stance was criticised by supporters on social media, and it also attracted the attention of Reuben. In response to the Chronicle story, the Newcastle part owner simply posted: "agbonlaBORE !
It was a response which inevitably proved popular with Magpies supporters on social media. One fan responded 'well said @jamiereuben, he just doesn't get the owners, players or fans' while another commented 'and it’s Reuben at the back post!!'
