There have been trade speculations surrounding New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, including a recent report that the team shopped their starting quarterback to at least four other teams.
There was also another report citing tension between Jones and coach Bill Belichick. A to Z Sports’ Doug Kyed added some new details to the trade rumors in what has been a roller coaster of reports over the past couple days.
Jones is coming off a second season that saw him record 2,997 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Between injuries and offensive struggles, it was a tough 2022 season for Jones. Now, he will look to right the ship in his third year with Bill O’Brien taking over the offense.
Kyed noted that the offers from teams have not been high in terms of value. He wrote:
One source said teams haven’t offered enough in a trade for the former Alabama quarterback to make a deal worth it for New England.
It will be interesting to see what happens on the Jones front, as New England enters a pivotal 2023 season.
