It was a joyful day for many book readers in Dublin as beloved independent book store Chapters located on Parnell Street reopened earlier today.
Hearts were broken back in January, when the Chapters announced that after 40 years in business in locations across the city, it would be closing its doors.
But Ireland's largest independent book shop opened its doors today after the owners of Gamesworld Kevin Neary and Michael Finucane, bought the business.

The pair set up Gamesworld in the back of the original Chapters location on Middle Abbey Street, Dublin, in 1994 with about 300sq ft (28sq m) in the back of the shop.
Speaking to Dublin Live, Mick Finucane said of the reopening: "It's brilliant, the customers have been fantastic and so supportive and loyal. It's an unbelievable welcome back for the store and hopefully we get another 40 years.
"It's all exciting, I was like a young child on Christmas Eve last night, it was brilliant."
According to Mick, the reopening of the popular store came about when they saw the huge reaction from the public about the store closing down.
He said: "We realised really quickly that we weren't the only ones who had a Chapters story, that all these people have their own individual Chapters story and we just said maybe we should try and do something about this."
They reached out to the former owners of Chapters, Willie and Gerard, and bought the assets of the company.
Mick said: "So we decided we'd get the store back open and trading as quickly as possible and we opened this morning at 10 o'clock and it's been great.
"We have fantastic customers and we hope everybody has a really great time and loves the books that they buy in Chapters."
Chapters also has a mix of new and returning members of staff, and are on the lookout for new members of staff to drop their CVs into the store on Parnell Street.
Like the previous store, Chapters is also keeping its famous second hand books section.
Mick explained: "Second hand is something that is really important to Chapters and Chapters customers, the beauty of second-hand is I suppose from an environmental purpose it's the re-use of books, and that's the first thing we should be conscious of from an environmental point of view.
"But secondly, it makes a lot more books accessible to everybody and that's a really important thing for us, we want books to be as accessible as possible to people."
Chapters book store is now reopen on Parnell Street in Dublin and its first online sale is expected in the coming weeks.
