New laws could see ID checks rolled out at salons in bid to crack down on children using sunbeds

Mandatory ID checks to stop children using sunbeds have been proposed in new laws under consultation.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said teenagers often get around existing rules barring under-18s from using sunbeds “through using contactless systems that let anyone tap and tan without any checks by a staff member”.
