With increasing cases of obesity across the world today, bariatric/ metabolic surgery has become one of the most effective treatments for it. The surgery leads to a decrease in hunger and food intake, thus leading to the patient's weight loss. However, patients who undergo bariatric/ metabolic surgery are also expected to stick to dietary changes for better results. Thus in order to help such patients and people who would like to lose some weight, a new cookbook titled 'Vegetarian Bariatric Recipes- a Global CookBook from India' was recently launched at Saifee Hospital, Mumbai, India.
'Vegetarian Bariatric Recipes- a Global CookBook from India', as the title suggests, is a compilation of 70 vegetarian recipes which are contributed by over 35 nutrition experts from all across the world. Each recipe comes along with the nutritional benefits and macro-nutrient calculations. The book is compiled and edited by Dr. Aparna Govil Bhasker, a renowned bariatric surgeon from Mumbai, and Mariam Lakdawala, a bariatric nutritionist.
