‘Medical pioneer’ has pig kidney removed from his body 271 days after animal-to-human transplant

A New Hampshire man who lived with a gene-edited pig kidney for a record 271 days is resuming dialysis, doctors said Monday.

Tim Andrews, 67, had the organ removed on Oct. 23 because of its declining function, according to Mass General Brigham.
