More than one in four children are living in poverty in Wales, a new report has found. According to the data, almost 28% of children in Wales are living in poverty after housing costs.
The report also revealed 80% of children in poverty live in working households (before housing costs) in Wales. This was the second highest in the UK, behind the south east of England (86%).
When compared to the rest of the UK, Wales was below the UK average (29.2%) but higher than Scotland (24.5%), Northern Ireland (22.2%), the south east (25.2%) and south west of England (26.9%).
