Neil Young Radio returns to SiriusXM after Spotify drops the rock legend

One day after Spotify removed Neil Young’s music from its streaming service, SiriusXM is filling the void with the return of Neil Young Radio.

On Wednesday, Spotify answered Young’s ultimatum of “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.” by choosing the podcaster, even after Young removed the open letter from his site. The 76-year-old rock legend accused Rogan of spreading vaccine misinformation on the Joe Rogan Experience, which averages more than 10 million listeners per episode.

Neil Young Radio, which launched as a limited-run channel on Sirius in December, will return to SiriusXM’s Deep Tracks, channel 27, for seven days starting Thursday.

The channel will stream hits, rarities and every new song from his latest album “Barn,” along with music from Buffalo Springfield and Crosby Stills Nash & Young, plus Young sharing the insights behind writing and recording the music.

There will also be concert broadcasts from Young’s vaults, celebrity guest DJs and a “Barn” track-by-track album special.

“When you have an opportunity to present an iconic artist still at the height of his creativity, you don’t hesitate to do it, again,” Steve Blatter, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Music Programming, SiriusXM, said in a statement. “Outspoken, brave, and a true music icon, Neil Young is in a rare class of artists, and we are honored to collaborate with him to create a special audio experience for his fans.”
