There was shock among neighbours who woke up to "firefighters shooting water" after a fire that ripped through the roof of a house. It comes as the emergency services were called to to a house fire which broke out in the early hours of the morning, on Saturday, May 13.
Emergency services were called to a property in Gladehill Road, between Bestwood and Daybrook, at 4.11am. Five fire engines, including the aerial ladder platform, were first called out.
The roof has been significantly damaged, with broken tiles that could be seen on the floor. And Keith Bowler, who saw the scene in the early hours of the morning, told Nottinghamshire Live: "I saw the firefighters shooting the water in the roof."

The retired neighbour, who has lived in the area for 50 years, added: "I have never seen anything like this before. I feel sorry for the people living there.
"Nobody wants that. It is the luck of the draw that I am okay."
A resident who lives on Gladehill Road said she woke up to see "lights" and police on her street. She added: "All I remember was waking up this morning and hearing people talking outside.
"I had a quick peek outside through the window and saw two police cars. I went back to bed but I could not sleep. I got up to go and get my local paper and it was cordoned off further up the road. I thought that was suspicious.
"I was a little bit worried. I wondered what went off. We lived here for 20 years this is the first time it happened. Someone's roof burnt out."
Megan Baggaley, a support worker who also lives in the area, said she feels sorry for her neighbours, adding: "It is not nice. I feel sorry for them.
"It makes you feel more aware. I did not hear anything. It is shocking when it happens on your street. It is a quiet street - I never ever had any issues."
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no one had been injured, with crews saying the occupants of the property were out at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. It's been a busy 24 hours for the fire service, with crews having been called to a fire in Kimberley that ripped through a barn.
