Brisbane captain Adam Reynolds is on track to play the Sydney Roosters in round one after taking a key step in his recovery from neck surgery.

The 34-year-old had surgery in December after a season in which he played just 13 NRL games, the lowest number in his 13-year career, due mainly to a biceps rupture.
