In one of the most anticipated second-round matchups the NBA has seen in recent memory, the Los Angeles Lakers took on Stephen Curry and the defending world-champion Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
Game 1 largely lived up to expectations. Both teams went back and forth and decided the outcome in the final seconds. In the end, the Lakers outlasted Stephen Curry and company for a 117-112 win in San Francisco.
Once again, L.A. has stolen home-court advantage to start a postseason series, and it did so on the back of Anthony Davis, who had 30 points, 23 rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots.
NBA Twitter was thoroughly impressed at what transpired in Game 1.

The Lakers winning the game when Poole matches LeBron’s scoring and the Warriors hit FIFTEEN more 3s is not exactly a good sign for the defending champs.

Warriors were 19-2 in their home court games 1’s. LeBron is 28-2 in a Series after winning game 1.

If game 1 is the barometer, then the lakers really are a matchup prob for the dubs bec of their advantage in size, there is only a small room of mistakes because the lakers can score easily with their height advantage.

Anybody who didn't think this series (and really any series for the Lakers) is all about AD, really has no clue about this Laker team. AD is the best player on this team and this series will go as he goes. Lebron has it easy if the Lakers are smart.

My biggest takeaway from Game 1: The Lakers are just a better basketball team than the defending champs. They score so easily on GSt … while the Warriors are long-distance of bust.
