A mysterious Ayrshire Euromillions winner has secured a £1,000,000 prize and is plotting how to spend his winnings.
Known only as 'Mr W', the mystery man has become a millionaire overnight after banking the whopping sum on April 4.
Lotto bosses say the winner is plotting to buy a new motor and treats for his family.
The lucky local has chosen to announce some details of his win through partial publicity while other choose to be named or remain anonymous.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “What incredible news for Mr W for winning this fantastic prize. He has become a million pounds richer overnight and can now treat his family and buy a new car.”
The news emerges after a hunt was launched for an unclaimed £1m in Ayrshire in February this year on the EuroMillions.
It was announced a few days later that a winner had came forward to claim the fortune.
For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket creating a millionaire in every draw.
National Lottery players generate £30m each week for National Lottery-funded projects.
This money helps support everything from the local charity making a difference where residents live through to helping UK athletes win medals at last summer’s Commonwealth Games.
To date, over £47BN has been raised for National Lottery Good Causes, with more than 670,000 individual grants awarded.
