'My nosy neighbour won't stop peeking into my window - so I wrote a savage note'

A disgruntled renter has taken drastic measures to try and protect their privacy after a 'nosy' neighbour kept peering into their windows.

There are many nightmare neighbour horror stories which usually centre around excessive noise or even nabbing wheelie bins, but this angry tenant is tired of the woman next door constantly taking a peek inside their home as it's a serious invasion of privacy.

They've tried reporting the neighbour's behaviour to the landlord multiple times, with zero success as they 'don't care'.

Desperate to discourage the nuisance neighbour but unsure if they are being too unreasonable, the tenant is keen for advice on whether the savage note was one step too far.

Taking to Reddit to offload the issue, the unnamed resident wrote: "I live in a ground floor flat in a tenement block, my living room/ kitchen window faces the communal back yard area. Over the last few months, the tenant above me takes her pet dog out there for its poops and pees.

"While she's out there, for some reason, she can't help but peer into my window, having a good look at me going about my daily business. Used to have blinds, but they broke and I replaced them with curtains the other day."

Despite trying a polite approach and even mouthing a sweary command at the neighbour, her pesky habit continues.

"No amount of civil requests for her to stop, escalating rapidly to mouthed 'f*** offs' seem to have stopped her," they explained, leaving them stuck on what to do next.

Taking it one step further, the Reddit poster said: "I taped a small orange post it note to the window, saying 'KINDLY MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS'".

They were happy with the bold move, but unfortunately their father doesn't agree, dubbing it as 'out of order'.

Keen to know whether they are an 'a**hole' for the savage note, the tenant asked people for advice - and other Redditors were keen to throw in their two pence on the matter.

Many were on her side, as one person joked: "Your only mistake is using a post it note rather than a posterboard. But I suppose you don't want to completely block your view of the yard."

Meanwhile, another suggested: "Not the a**hole, but you are escalating the situation. Buy one-way mirror film to put on your windows so that you have privacy during the day when the sun is out."

Various other Reddit posters suggested investing in some mirror film to solve the issue, while another urged the renter to go out and stare at the neighbour right back.
