'My neighbour's floodlights beam into my bedroom all night long - I can't sleep'

We've all had to deal with inconsiderate neighbours from time to time, and it can be particularly frustrating when their antics end up disturbing your sleep. One woman is exhausted by her neighbour's infuriatingly bright floodlights, which light up her entire house between the hours of 7pm to 7am - a time when she should be resting and sleeping.

According to this woman, the lights beam into every room of her home, including her bedroom, and she's now reached the end of her tether. Although her neighbour can be 'awkward' at times, she now feels she has no choice but to have a word with him if she ever hopes to get a good night's sleep again.

Taking to Reddit, the exasperated woman shared a photo of her dining room at night, flooded with the light of a powerful beam.

She wrote: "It's 3 am. There are no lights on in my house. My neighbour has installed a floodlight that lights up my house (including my bedroom) from 7 pm to 7 am every night."

One startled commenter remarked it was as if her neighbour had 'obtained the power of the sun', to which she drily replied, 'that's just his huge ego emanating from him'.

A number of Reddit users offered suggestions on how to address the situation, ranging from showing her neighbour a photo from inside her house to mirror tricks.

One person advised: "That's when you put a mirror as close as you can on your property to the lights and have it shine right back at them so if they don't like it all they have to do is shut it off."

Another commented: "I'd record audio of me saying 'HEY THERE SPORT THAT LIGHT MAKES MY HOUSE LOOK LIKE A VICTIM OF A UFO ABDUCTION!' and play it on repeat on a speaker the minute the light goes on. I'm gonna make other neighbours hate him too. We're all going down."
