NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians secured their second Women's Premier League (WPL) title with a thrilling 8-run victory over Delhi Capitals in the final at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. Defending 150, Mumbai Indians bowlers, led by Nat Sciver-Brunt (3/30), restricted Delhi Capitals to 141 for 9 for a tense win.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted a competitive total of 149 for 7 in their 20 overs. The innings began with an early setback as Hayley Matthews was dismissed for just 3 runs by Marizanne Kapp. Yastika Bhatia followed soon after, falling for 8 runs to Kapp’s sharp bowling.
