A mum has been left terrified to live in her own home where rats have taken over and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Kathryn Bottrill, 28, said the rodents have been eating away at furniture, clothing and food at the property in Seaham, County Durham.
The single mum said the problem began around nine weeks ago after vermin tunnelled their way into the house via the garden and a gap in her loft.
