Mum slams cleaner for filming 'dancing' TikTok videos in her bedroom

A mum has blasted her cleaner for posting videos of herself 'dancing' in her home while she was supposed to be tidying it.

The woman posted on online parenting forum Mumsnet to request advice on what to do after coming across the videos while scrolling on the app.

Unsure whether she was "overreacting", she asked the users on Mumsnet to confirm whether the cleaner making the videos while she was supposed to be working was worth "pulling her up" for.

The woman wrote: "I have a TikTok account but don’t post on it, just watch other videos! Like Instagram TikTok pushes accounts linked to phone contacts to your home page.

"Scrolling yesterday, I’ve been astounded to find multiple videos posted by my cleaner dancing, singing and wearing accessories (hat and sunglasses) in my bedroom on her account. She’s done this many times as she has different outfits on in each.

"She’s sat on my bed, dancing in my mirror and posing with my hat (left out on a hanger) and sunglasses taken from my bedside table."

She continued: "She cleans once every two weeks for 2 hours and I leave her alone for one hour so she can get my office done as I WFH. I have found her so far trustworthy although she’s damaged a few things I’ve mentioned to her."

"Her cleaning is good but I find her a bit strange and blunt but thought that’s a language barrier thing (she’s asked a few times how I can afford to live alone in my flat). I want to raise it with her- but am I overreacting?"

Before long, dozens of users had left comments expressing their opinion on the matter. Most were in agreement that the cleaner's actions were an "invasion of privacy".

One shared: "So she's posted your home on TikTok when she should be working? I'd let her go. That feels such a huge invasion of privacy."

"If this happened she wouldn't be my cleaner any more that's for damn sure," revealed a second.

A third echoed: "That is a huge abuse of trust of course you should mention it to her. If she works for an agency I would tell them too as it’s likely not just your home she does that in."

"I'd find that a huge breach of trust and I would find another cleaner," commented a fourth, while a fifth agreed: "She needs to go, trust has completely broken down."

"If that actually happened, then I'd sack her straight away, and tell her the reasons why," said a sixth.

Meanwhile, a seventh posted: "I worked for years as a housekeeper and I would advise you to fire her for theft - you were paying for her to work cleaning, not to play at movie making."
