Mum forced to quit job so she can get autistic son to school

A mum has been left frustrated and angry after being forced to quit her job in order to take her autistic son to school.

Charlie Bowe, 12, has spent six months out of the classroom after having to leave his mainstream secondary school as his family say that the staff couldn't meet his needs. Although he remained on the roll for several months after leaving, he wasn't given work to do at home.

His mum Samantha said it had an impact on his mental health and left Charlie "really upset". StokeonTrentLive reports that Samantha lodged a special needs tribunal and her son got offered a place at Abbey Hill School.
