A woman who tried for years to get pregnant was stunned when she found out she was carrying not one, but three babies.
Keisha James-Thomas, 25, from Huddersfield, was convinced she couldn't have children after three years of unsuccessful attempts.
But when a scan revealed she had three bundles of joy on the way, she was left in a state of disbelief.
Keisha said that even her own mum didn't believe the news, Yorkshire Live reports.
She joked: "I was effing and blinding. It just didn't seem real. It was a big shock - I wasn't expecting it at all."
Keisha added: "It was positive because I was trying for so long, I didn't think I could have babies so, when it did happen, it was like a miracle.
"I was in big shock, I couldn't believe it at first and my mum didn't believe it for a second until I showed her the scans."
Once she had gotten over the initial shock, Keisha said the nerves set in and she even started to have nightmares.
She explained: "I had bad nightmares about it, probably because it was my first pregnancy.
"I looked it up and it's normal to have nightmares but, because I'm young and becoming a mum to three, it's a big shock."
And Keisha also had to deal with extreme morning sickness, which she said left her "bedbound" at times.
She said: "At the beginning, it was hard, I had bad sickness up until about 25 weeks, so some days or some weeks I could even be bedbound, it just got that bad because I was so drained and weak.
"Then other days it was okay, it got better and I only had sickness every now and then, so it wasn't as hard as in the beginning."
Carrying three little bundles of joy certainly took its toll on Keisha too, as she said that, towards the end of her pregnancy, she had constant back pain.
But her pregnancy had otherwise been normal and her babies were born six weeks early, on December 20.
Avarni, a boy, was born weighing 4lbs 5oz, daughter Ameyah was 3lbs 6oz and daughter Ariyah was 3lbs 3oz.
The trio had to remain in Calderdale Royal Hospital with Keisha as they needed a bit of TLC for a short while.
Keisha, who is now back home in Bradley, Huddersfield, said the babies were putting on weight and were already showing their little personalities.
"They're all definitely different personalities, the boy is quite chilled and calm and the little girl is calm, but the other one's just loud," Keisha said.
She added: "Some days it can be hectic, some days it's not: it all depends really, it just goes on how they are through the day."
Keisha and her family are also discovering just how expensive children can be.
"Everyone was saying it's expensive with one. With three, it's very expensive," she said.
Keisha's mum, Karen Thomas, was just as shocked when Keisha told her that triplets were on the way.
She said: "I thought she [Keisha] was joking. We just thought she was winding us up. She sent the scan pictures and I was in shock.
"I asked 'how do you feel' and she didn't know."
Karen is now a delighted gran to 13 grandchildren.
