A "much loved" girl who tragically fell to her death from a cliff in Devon has been named as 18-year-old Keeleigh Plant.
Police raced to a beach near Hope Cove on Friday afternoon after being told by the coastguard that the body of a woman had been recovered.
It was reported that the teenager had been out walking with her boyfriend when she tried to stop her dog from chasing a rabbit and tripped.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious and inquiries are ongoing.
Kingsbridge Community College, at which Keeleigh was a Year 13 student, has since paid tribute to a "much loved daughter, sister, aunty and friend".
Matthew Shanks, Education South West Trust Lead, told the Mirror: "On behalf of everyone at Kingsbridge Community College, I want to convey our sadness at this tragic event.
"Our immediate thoughts and condolences are with Keeleigh's family, friends and loved ones, and to the many pupils and staff whose lives she enriched throughout her time at KCC.
"The death of a child is a devastating and unimaginable loss, and I ask that Keeleigh’s family, friends and teachers are given the time, space and respect needed to come to terms with this tragedy."
The college is offering support today and and onwards for "students and staff who would like someone to talk to", reports local news site South Hams.
Principal Tina Graham said: "I know you will join me in sending our deepest love and thoughts to her family at this time."
Ms Graham added: "The next few days may be difficult for all, but it will be important to maintain our normal routines whilst allowing everyone to grieve in their own way and in their own time.
"There will be additional adults and colleagues from The Educational Psychology Service in college and available to provide additional support as necessary."
Sending their condolences to the teenager's family, one person wrote on social media: "Keeleigh was so loved."
Another said: "Rip beautiful girl", and a third posted: "Such horrendous news, sending deepest sympathies to the Plant family."
Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bigbury and Kingsbridge, an independent rescue boat from Hope Cove and the Coastguard helicopter from Newquay were all sent to the scene along with ambulance teams at roughly 3.45pm.
Around an hour later they informed police about what happened, and the teenager was confirmed dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were informed by the Coastguard at around 4.40pm on Friday 19 May that the body of a woman had been recovered from the beach near Hope Cove.
"An 18-year-old woman from Kingsbridge was reported to have fallen from the cliff and was confirmed deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are continuing."
