Mrs Hinch fans share 38p cleaning hack that transforms filthy patio slabs

With brighter, lighter days on the horizon, we'll all be spending a bit more time in the garden.

But after months of neglect, it's likely it'll need some TLC.

The job at hand may seem easy enough at first, pulling out some weeds here and planting some seeds there...

Then it comes to the patio with its stained, dirty slabs, and you're thinking of any old excuse to put it off for another week or two.

One woman who was keen to get hers looking as good as new took to Facebook to ask for advice on how to clean it.

She made her plea for help in a Mrs Hinch group where she said: "HELP! I’m going to have a go at cleaning my patio and try to bring it back to life.

"Any tips on what to use and how?"

Group members were quick to share their tips, tricks and advice in the comments in the hopes of fixing the woman's problem, and the most popular response was to use bleach.

One person said: "You could try putting bleach on them once it’s rained and using a brush to scrub it in and then wash it away."

Another replied: "My dad uses cheap bleach, scrub with a sweeping brush then jet wash."

A third commented: “Me too. Gets all the algae off a swell.”

Someone else agreed, writing: "I did this with mine ...they came up like new."

A fifth group member suggested dousing the patio in bleach, going at it with a scrubbing brush and then washing off after an hour or so.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using a pressure washer, Wet and Forget and Pink Stuff.

"If you have or can borrow a Karcher/pressure washer, it will bring your patio up lovely," said one person.

While another put: "Pink Stuff Cream. Put a full bottle in a power wash using patio head and they'll come up like new."
