Liverpool are reportedly preparing a bid to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo amid interest from Manchester United. The 20-year-old has found himself linked with a host of top European clubs.
Jurgen Klopp has suggested he is happy with his midfield options at Liverpool, but injuries to Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has put strain on the middle of the park for the Reds.
While Liverpool are believed to be keen on securing the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham next summer, it remains to be seen whether they could be pressed into earlier action - and Caicedo is a name gossip columns are putting in the frame.
Ecuadorian outlet Studio Futbol reported that Caicedo has turned down a move to Manchester United in favour of linking up with Klopp at Liverpool.
If this is to be believed then the 20-year-old may have already endeared himself to the Reds fans.
At just the tender ago of 20, Caicedo arguably fits the bracket for the type of player Klopp would sign for Liverpool, but it seems unlikely Brighton would be willing to part ways with their emerging talent - who is contracted to the Seagulls until 2025.
